The Chefs Association of Ghana wishes to inform members and all chefs in Ghana on findings on the purported statement made by the General Manager of Golden Tulip at the #Accra Weizo panel discussion.
According to a statement by the president , he said: “It happened that the discussion was centered on standards in African Tourism and on that the GM (Paul) mentioned of no certified chef in Africa, not only Ghana. “
“The organizers of the event have consequently on the same platform (the Accra Weizo) explained and asked for pardon in the misrepresentation and does not, neither do have any intention to malign the professionals in Ghana or for that matter, Africa.
“The comment bothering on licencing has been an issue that the Association Executive is already in discussions with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), in designing courses that seek to create certain standards for our profession which confirm to that of the World.
“It is in this vein that CAG registered to be a member of the World Association of Chef Societies (WACS) to attract resources to help develop our lot.
“We are using this occasion to calm all tempers down and to encourage all to continue to love the Association passionately as we have displayed on this time.
“Let us continue to love, share knowledge and together we develop as a profession.
Long live chefs, CAG and Ghana” he said.
