All major airlines flying to Europe from Ghana have been fully booked few hours after Malta announced a visa waiver policy for Ghanaian passport holders.
Ghana and Malta signed several bilateral agreements including a visa-free agreement for nationals of both countries.
The signing of the visa agreement comes as result of President Akufo Addo’s visit to the European Union country.
Malta is a member of the EU and a founding member of the Schengen States. Travelers arriving in Malta can freely travel through all the 26 schengen countries which include Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Greece, Estonia, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and others.
Fares to Malta have shoot up leaving only Business and First Class seats available for purchase. Airlines say Economy seats sold out few hours after the announcement was made.
